Matthew Stratton's award winning career has spanned three decades and includes time as a newspaper reporter, freelance writer/photographer, medical and surgical photographer/videographer, hospital public relations manager, and financial services executive. He is currently a senior executive at Oklahoma's largest credit union. In his 18 years there Matt has earned a reputation as a talented speaker and educator, having been a guest speaker at numerous local, state and national conferences.
Matt holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma. He received the 2009 Credit Union Professional of the Year award from the National Association of Federal Credit Unions and the 1996 Marketer of the Year award presented by the Credit Union Executives Society. During the past two decades, he has led a team of talented marketers who have won dozens of awards, including Golden Mirrors, Diamonds and Addys.
When not on the job, Matt can often be found on stage. He has participated in community theatre, as both a writer and actor with roles in productions ranging from classic old melodramas to Arsenic and Old Lace, Our Town and Born Yesterday. For the past several years, Matt's time on stage has been as a singer/songwriter, performing at conferences, private parties, songwriter showcases and corporate events. He is known for lyric writing that displays wry wit in political and social satire as well as heartwarming songs about living, loving and laughing.
